Nursery Changes
Well, A somehow got his leg wedged between the bars on his crib. Considering how chubby his little thighs are this was quite an accomplishment and indicates his crib was not safe. Since it was given to us free of charge during a financially tight time I am not complaining but tonight we bought him a new and thus safer crib. It is beautiful and can become a toddler bed, day bed, and full sized head and foot board. It is cherry finish and matches the craddle and changing table. Ironic since that wasn't a consideration in purchasing it. Price and did I personally like it mattered more. I loved this one, it is so pretty. We had to drive 15 miles down the road to get one but I was quite pleased with our purchase. I got a $200+ crib for $135 so I feel I got a great deal and it was only $15 more than the absolutely basic crib that was not on sale. It was a little harder to put together than the older ones but it has much sturderier construction and feels safer. It is called a manhatten style crib. I know it sounds like a pricy investment when he is 8 months old now but his safety comes first. All the second hand cribs I have seen had the same bar spacing as the one we had. Actually the cheaper crib had the same spacing as the old one. This one the bars are closer together and there is no way he is getting his little leg jammed inbetween them. His arm would even be difficult which makes me feel much better about putting him down for the night.
